Database training videos

Between 2017 and 2018, I produced three training videos to help Duke University staff and faculty navigate the graduate admissions database. The technical skills I learned in Professor Martin's class were instrumental in my work on these videos.
I wrote the script for the videos and shot them using Google Hangouts and YouTube Creator Studio. Doing these videos presented challenges that had not come up during previous video projects. For example, I had to show the database screens without disclosing real student data and use a video hosting platform that would restrict viewer permissions. I have always been detail oriented, but shooting these videos took my detail orientation skills to a whole other level, as I had to make sure every mouse click was in sync with my instructions and every screen feature thoroughly explained.
Instructional responsibilities will figure prominently in my work as a library and information professional. Working on these videos expanded my instructional skill set and technological expertise.
