I am a writer and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro's Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program. As a librarian, I want to partner with marginalized and underserved populations to develop community programming and services. My previous experience includes teaching English to speakers of other languages, creating communications for students transitioning to graduate school, and providing library outreach services to people living in residential group homes. I currently author a blog about learning, libraries, and literacy.
This capstone site details my learning experiences as an MLIS student. The Three Pillars section describes the values and ethics that will undergird my librarianship practice. The Learning Outcomes (SLOs) are a series of narratives explaining how I developed core librarian competencies during my time in the MLIS program. The Work section is a list of work projects related to those competencies. If you would like to arrange an in-person or virtual meeting with me, please contact me directly at [email protected]. |
